Devon Edwenna Aoki is the daughter of Japanese Olympic wrestler and Benihana steakhouse magnate Rocky Aoki and Anglo-Bavarian jewelry designer Pamela Hilburger.
A New York native, she grew up in the suburbs of Malibu, but moved back to her hometown when she was 13. That same year her godmother introduced her to Kate Moss, who later took Devon as her apprentice. Devon was also spotted by a photographer backstage at a Rancid concert, where her picture was taken for Interview magazine.
At 14 Devon moved to London with her mother, (who was divorced from Rocky Aoki) and her siblings. There she joined Storm Model Management, which also represented her mentor Moss. Says more...
