Born and raised in Manhattan, Cynthia Nixon has been acting professionally since the age of 12 and continues to build upon a versatile career in film, television and on stage.
Nixon stars as Miranda Hobbes, the cynical corporate lawyer in HBO's Emmy®-and Golden Globe® award-winning series Sex and the City. Nixon received recognition for her role when she was nominated for three Golden Globes® and in 2002 she received her first Emmy® nomination. In 2002, Nixon along with her co-stars won a Screen Actor's Guild award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
